I live in Sant Cugat and I am a very active person. I have always practiced sports, especially tennis. Approximately 5 years ago I started feeling discomfort in my right hip while playing.
Over time pain increased to the point that I was unable to continue playing. A good orthopedic surgeon diagnosed ‘necrosis’ of about 2 cm in the upper acetabulum of my right hip, which caused inflammation, pain and limitation of movement. According to him, the only possible solution was to have surgery to put prosthesis in the hip. A friend with neck and back discomfort, who was under Dr. Olaru’ s care, told me that she was very pleased with the results. Even though her problems were different than mine, I decided to set up an appointment. Dr. Angela confirmed that she could help me and since then I have aborted the option of undergoing surgery.
We started treatment focusing on my pain, performing parallel exercises with the physiotherapist and a podiatrist, who I made a study of my gate and within a few months, I noted substantial relief. Since then, I go in for regular follow up treatments but the doctor’s approach is global and the hip no longer bothers me.
This experience, taught me I that the body is a whole, in which all parts are interrelated. Achieving perfect coordination between them increases vital energy, physical and mental well-being and quality of life.
By maintaining the spine in good shape means we insure a nervous system free of interference and therefore a source of overall health.
The mere fact of going to Dr. Angela’s office and exchanging views with her, has also taught me how to face life and unexpected difficulties that may arise.
I am convinced that our limitations are in the mind, not in the physical, and we must learn to eliminate these barriers.
In the last five years I have acquired new habits. I do daily exercises to protect the spine and hips, I incorporated healthier foods into my diet, I try to avoid drugs replacing them with natural remedies, and I reconsidered my sports. I now do other sports that are less aggressive in my case. In short, I learned how to take care of myself.
For all these reasons and because I consider that professional chiropractic it a preventive health care specialty, I definitely recommend it to anyone, even to those who are in an optimal state of health in order to keep it so. My wife and children already receive regular chiropractic care.
My thanks to our permanent ‘Health Coach’ and to her team for helping us feel better.
